what do you think about poison?

why so many poeple (who love glam like me) sai that poison is shit?
after the glam period they prove thath they can be honnest
(i know the story about "we go rockit" of eazy action)
but you do you like poison?

Poison is awesome to me, they have proven to still keep going despite of poor album sales and maybe not so great of songs at times, but Poison will always draw a good crowd. Yes, people do say Poison is shit...I can't say anything...cuz I know there are alot of KISS fans...and I think KISS is the worst shit in the music biz...and never understood why people make them out to be the Rock Gods that they really aren't.
So, POISON is a great band to me...and surely there's gonna be people who think they are crap, but at the end of opinions...we all know that it's what you like...who cares what people say.
Oh, and before I stop typing:

As they say, opinions are like assholes...everybody has one...

Poison has always gotten a lot of grief. All of the bands that were REAL glam bands got grief. If you pouted your lips and wore red lipstick, you got a lot grief about how you sucked. I personally believe Poison has written some amazing songs. I'm one of the rare people on this board that doesn't really like the "Look What the Cat Dragged In" album. My personal favorites are "Flesh & Blood" and "Native Tongue". I think Poison has gone on and made many great albums, and their continued live fan base (even if those fans don't buy the new cds for some reason) proved their staying power. Anyone who thinks Poison sucks can look at what they've accomplished and close their mouths. They play live and draw twice the crowd that bands at the top of the charts draw...nuff said...

I am one that believe KISS is the greatest rock band that will ever be. Poison and KISS are very similar in that you have to look at more than songs. If you are talking about Boston or Journey, all you have is songs. What you don't have is much excitement. Poison and KISS might not have written songs as strong as bands like Journey or Boston did, but both bands are an experience...a movement...It's about so much more than songs. I know this because when I was five years old in 1978, I had a surgery. My brother said "I'll do anything you want me to while you are recovering." All I wanted was to listen to his KISS Alive record. When I was twelve years old, we had to write a paper in school about my greatest fears...Number one on my list was that Kiss would some day break up...Today I'm nearing 32 years old, and that connection between that band and me that started literally when I was three years old is still burning brighter than ever. I still can't imagine a world without KISS. What the hell will I do? Bands like KISS & Poison are not about good and bad. They are about either you connect with them, or you don't. If you connect, you'll die for them...If you don't connect, you think they suck

This is a ramble, but oh well...I love both bands!

I agree with Sandi...Poison still gets more of a turn out than any other band...well that's besides KISS...hehehe...There I typed it...Woooo...that was tuff to type..LOL

Yeah ... so the music and themes were relatively simplistic ... but it was songs about having a good time ... and who wants to have a shit time ? There are just too many pretentious twats out there that just can't see what it is to get loaded and rock out to rock'n'roll ... and the worst of it is that many of these types also like rock ... but are so set in their ways they miss out on the good times. Me I love many types of rock ... goth, metal, death, folk, protest, crusty, glitter, glam ... whatever ...
Poison rock. They make me smile. Thats all I want.

Hey, I love Poison, when i was young (i'm always young but it's different [img]biggrin.gif[/img] ), I knew nothing about the glam, the only thing with glam's connection was Bon jovi, n' one of my teacher say me, if you like bon jovi you'll like Poison, so the next week he gaves me "Look what the cat dragged in "... And with that band i've find my music... And this band help me to know other glam's band...For me Poison and Motley Crue, Kiss is not really band which you like for their musical quality... But more by the story you have with these band... Like that already was say...

<font size="4" face="Arial">hell, i think kiss is over-rated (really, i liked them when i was 13 but now i play a 'classic' kiss song and go 'dude, WFT was i on back then?' and poison is a one trick pony and to me that trick was done in 1986 (you can tell bret that steve wants his look back, and nice logo too. you can tell who they grew up watching huh?)
